About AUS Brokers
AUS Brokers is an Australian online business appraisal service. Owners who plan to sell their own business upload their profit & loss and other records. They get back an indicative appraisal of what the business could sell for, with the working shown, plus an optional buyer-ready business profile. We cover every Australian state and territory.
We're not an insurance, finance or mortgage broker, and we aren't part of any insurance or finance broking group.
What we do
Most small business owners who sell privately start with a guess. AUS Brokers replaces the guess with an indicative price range you can explain to a buyer:
- Vendor Appraisal Report. We rebuild your maintainable earnings from your accounts, including add-backs, apply an industry sale multiple and test the result against comparable businesses currently listed for sale in your state. Interstate comparables are clearly marked.
- Buyer Business Profile (optional). A document you can hand to serious buyers, with the financial summary, how the business runs, and a draft listing advertisement.
- Yours to edit. Both come as PDF and Word, and you can change the wording and add photos before you download.
It covers over 60 business types, from cafés and trades to health practices. Pricing is on the homepage: you pay once per appraisal, with no subscription.
What we don't do
- We don't provide valuations. An appraisal is an informed estimate of a likely selling range. If you need a valuation for finance, family law or tax, use a qualified valuer. Our guide Business appraisal vs valuation explains the difference.
- We don't sell businesses. We don't act for buyers or sellers, market your business or negotiate for you. You stay in control of your sale.
- We don't arrange insurance, loans or mortgages, and we don't give financial, legal or tax advice.
Who's behind it
AUS Brokers was started by Michael White, a licensed business agent in Victoria, who also runs Vic Brokers, a business brokerage. Appraising a business is the first job in every sale. AUS Brokers puts that same process, from accounts to maintainable earnings to a price range a buyer will accept, in the hands of owners who'd rather sell the business themselves.
We also publish free guides on valuing and selling a small business in Australia, from add-backs to the rules for selling in each state, and a regularly updated summary of business asking prices across Australia.

Common questions
Is AUS Brokers an insurance broker?
No. AUS Brokers is an online business appraisal service for owners selling their own business. We don't arrange insurance, loans or mortgages, and we aren't part of any insurance or finance broking group. If you're looking for an insurance broker, you're on the wrong site.
Why is it called AUS Brokers if you don't sell businesses?
The name reflects where the method comes from: business broking. Brokers appraise a business before they take it to market. AUS Brokers gives owners that same appraisal to use in a sale they run themselves.
Is an appraisal the same as a valuation?
No. AUS Brokers provides indicative appraisals only, not valuations. An appraisal estimates a likely selling range from your figures, industry sale multiples and comparable listings. A valuation is prepared by a qualified valuer for finance, family law, tax or legal purposes.
Which states do you cover?
Every Australian state and territory. Comparables come from businesses currently listed for sale in your state. When there are too few, we include interstate listings and mark them clearly.
